After playing around with my latest song idea (The Ballad of DADGAD), I started working on adding some kind of melody to it. While experimenting, I noticed several songs kind of worked with the chord progressions I was playing. This old public domain Christmas song was one of the better ones. It kinda sorta works. The Strat and the Rickenbacker bass were in Drop D tuning. The Martin was in DADGAD tuning.
A light and easy instrumental guitar piece that made me think of hot summer nights of my youth spent listening to katydids and watching fireflies. It features a 2011 Fender American Deluxe Stratocaster on lead and a 2012 Martin DC Aura Custom acoustic on two rhythm tracks. The bass track features a 2012 Rickenbacker 4003.
