I recorded a drum track using one of the Zoom’s rhythm patterns, then laid down the bass track using the cto Stomp patch (E0). I liked it, so I decided to add a guitar part. That wasn’t easy. Turns out my Rickenbacker was tuned sharp (I guess the Zoom’s tuner isn’t that accurate?). So I had to mis-tune my Les Paul. The bass track wasn’t really meant to have a guitar part, so I just messed around with the slide and wah pedal and came up with what you hear.

The title is a play on the name, ” wasabi” and was purposely misspelled as “Wah-Sabi” as a nod to the wah pedal.

The bass track was recorded using a Rickenbacker 4003 through the Zoom B3’s USB connection. The drum track was also recorded using that method, using a built-in rhythm pattern. The guitar part was recorded using a Les Paul through a Fender Mustang III amp’s USB connection. The wah pedal was a Boss V-Wah set to the Crybaby setting.

©2014 Joseph R.
